About

Breathtaking Yuki London Couture gown dating back to the late 1970's. Yuki was the label of Gnyuki Torimaru who studied architecture before working as a textile engineer. He made England his base in the 1960's and studied at the London College of Fashion, graduating in 1966. He first worked for Louis Feraud, then at Norman Hartnell and finally for Pierre Cardin before starting his own label. This stunning Yuki London showstopper has so much detail, you can tell it was made with loving devotion. The bodice is a seductive halter with unique ruffle-edged detail. I adore the sparkling beadwork gracing both the bold collar and wide waistband. The entire garment is fashioned with micro-pleating which is so incredibly modern. The fabric itself is a masterpiece; with the slightest move the black silk-base picks up green and maroon iridescent shimmer! The tea-length skirting flows in such a perfect Grecian goddess style. A pure work of art and a study in dressmaking technique.
