Baby peanut was pretty much potty trained in 48 hours. Want to know how I did it? Keep on reading!!

1. The most important tip is to make sure your child is ready.  Starting too soon will just be frustrating and probably prolong the process.  I started at roughly the 2 1/2 year mark with Baby Peanut. It was around the same time I started to notice more dry periods between changes. This is the most important sign to look for, as it means their bladder muscles are developed enough to hold urine.

2. Skip the fake potty. I started with a fake potty, you know the one that sings but she thought it was a toy and just wanted to play with it. We ditched it and put her on the regular potty with a Mayfair dual potty seat.  Hands down the best potty seat out there. It’s quick to install. It’s convenient, sturdy and baby peanut feels secure when she’s on it. Highly recommend.

3. Say no to Pull-Ups. I have my doctor to thank for this tip. Pull-Ups are confusing so I allowed her to go commando while wearing a dress for the first couple days, then transitioned her into undies. At night, no fluids after 8 and I make sure she uses the potty before she goes to bed.

4. Use a mattress cover.  If and when an accident happens clean up is as easy as peeling a banana! Pull back the cover and toss in the wash. We have 2 covers so that a new cover can be put on if an accident happens.

Potty training is different for every child so it's important to keep calm and be patient. Until next time
