Our favorite fall activity

I think we found our new favorite fall activity ... Apple picking!! This last weekend we put on our rain boots and heading out to the apple orchard. The rain did not stop us. Well, it almost did but thank goodness for Baby Peanut‘s perseverance. She even attempted to entertain Baby Bean by making silly faces, singing and dancing as he pretty much cried the entire ride. It sure was a memorable 50 minutes to say the least.

On arrival, the rain stopped and we pretty much had the whole farm to ourselves. As I watch the kids run from aisle to aisle with apples in their hands giggling, I am thankful.  I am grateful for them and this wonderful, chaotic, adventurous, loved filled life we’re building as a family of four. I love hearing the giggles. I love seeing their smiles and most of all I love being able to experience this together.

We filled our baskets with a mix of ambrosia, spy and courtland apples. The perfect mixture for the yummiest apple pie and make our way home with muddy boots, dirty clothes, full bellies and with a whole lot of memories.

I can’t believe we’ve never done this before. It definitely will be a fall tradition for us moving forward. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend apple picking.  We’ll heading back in a couple weeks before the end of the season. Until next time
